Pipe Cut-Off with No. 364 Cutter (45 RPM)
(Figure 7)
1. With reamer and die head in their UP position
place No. 364 Cutter over pipe.
2. Turn carriage handwheel to line up cutter wheel to
cut-off mark. A convenient viewing angle is provided.
3. With control switch in the CLOSE (1) position step
on foot switch and tighten feedscrew handle.
4. Turn feedscrew handle until cut-off is completed.
5. Release foot switch, turn machine OFF and return
cutter to its up position.

Pipe Reaming with No. 344 Reamer
(45 RPM)

1. With cutter and die head in their up position swing
reamer into its operating position.
2. With the control switch in the CLOSE (1) position
step on foot switch and feed carriage handwheel
towards the pipe.
3. With slight handwheel pressure feed reamer to
achieve desired ream.
4. Release foot switch, turn machine OFF and return
the reamer to its UP position.

Machine Operation Using
Standard Equipment
Before proceeding, read Safety Information section
thoroughly and familiarize yourself with basic machine
components. (Figure 6)
Check Oiling System
Remove chip pan and install 1 gallon of RIDGID
Thread Cutting Oil.
Electrical Power Source
Locate a power source as identified on the machine or
motor nameplate.
NOTE! Do not operate CSA approved machine if the
auxiliary fan does not run.
Automatic Pipe Chucking
WARNING
Never reach inside chuck cover while machine is
connected to a power source.
1. Measure and mark length of pipe to be worked.
2. Place transmission lever in 45 RPM position.
(Lever pointing to 3 oclock position)
3. Swing all carriage tools into their UP position.
4. Run machine in OPEN (2) switch position to open
jaws.
5. Place the pipe in chuck with enough material
exposed to complete desired operation.
6. Place control switch in the CLOSE (1) position and
step on machines foot switch.
7. The RIDGID CENTER-LOCK Chuck will automat-
ically center and grip pipe or bolt.
Automatic Chucking Tips
1. Insert short lengths of pipe into chuck from front of
machine.
2. If pipe is chucked off center, run the machine in the
OPEN (2) switch position to release pipe and
rechuck. Slight off center chucking can be correct-
ed with a normal ream or cut-off operation.
3. Pipe or bar extending more than 4 feet beyond the
rear of the machine should be supported with a
pipe support.
Use RIDGID No. 46 Pipe Stand and E-1178X 12
extension. An extension can be fabricated with a 12
